Remember What Jesus Said ..

Jesus Offers Pardon from Judgment

From the amazing things that Jesus said, which we have looked at so far, we learned that He is the Only Begotten Son of God, who came to mankind (through a  miraculous birth).  His purpose was to demonstrate the love of God the Father for the world by offering himself as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.  His desire was to save all who would believe that they might have eternal life.

John 3:18 – 21 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

From Jesus’ teaching in this passage we learn that all of mankind is under condemnation (of judgment and death) for sin. But “He who believes in Him is not condemned” … He answers the unspoken question: Why do some remain condemned?  Because “light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” The light that came into the world was Jesus Himself. He came to expose our sinful lives and to offer to take away our sins if we will confess our need for a Savior. We must come to Him and believe that He is the one God sent so that we can walk in the light of His truth, that our deeds may be clearly seen that we are living in God.

Note: This is how we become “born again of the Spirit” and have spiritual life in us.

Blessings to All in Jesus,    Vince
